Texas Sig Delt 2006 Social Events!
Informal Matchup - Not only did we get to dress up for this fun party, but we also got to pick out a date for one of our sisters! This year we went to Midnight Rodeo. We really got a chance to get to know guys outside of our own circle, and did a little two-steppin at the same time!
Out to Sea with SDT- All aboard!!! Our first annual Out to Sea with SDT was on October 14th, and was a night full of dancing and laughing with our sisters (and our dates)! We went aboard a luxury party cruise liner, the Flagship Texas on Lake Travis, and had the time of our lives while enjoying the stunning view of the lake at night. We plan on making Out to Sea with SDT an annual event, continuing it through generations!
Mixers - We love having mixers during the year with different fraternities, and other organizations at UT, as a chance to meet more people.
House Arrest Mixer:
We had a House Arrest mixer with AEPi this year, and it was a fantastic night of board games, music, and fun!
Scavenger Hunt Mixer:
On your marks, get set, go!!!! We had an awesome mixer with the men of Theta Chi and ran around west campus with tasks such as getting a stranger to dance with us!!! It was a great night, and the winning team won a $40 gift certificate to Starbucks!!
Cops and Robbers Mixer:
You DO NOT have the right to remain silent! In October we had a great night of games, music, and laughter with the men of Delta Sigma Phi- and the costumes weren’t to shabby either!
Crush Parties - Throughout the semester we have many cruch parties. These are a great way to meet lots of people because you can "Crush" as many guys as you want by giving them party favors such as t-shirts, cups, and boxers! Normally these parties are held at a club on Sixth Street, so expect a good time and LOTS of dancing! This year we have had themed crush parties including a Mardi Gras party and a Naughty or Nice party.
Casual - Each semester we have a themed casual. This year, our casual is themed Old South: Lads and Ladies. It is a dress up party at the elegant Old San Francisco Steakhouse. It’s a night of fun costumes, music, and dancing the night away! Here’s to the Sig Delt belles, and of course- our dates, the beaus!
Date Dash - These parties occur at random times during the semester when the chapter is least expecting a party. Girls are only given a few days to run out and find a date for the party. This year Sig Delts hit the ice, as we took our dates for a fun night of hot chocolate and ice skating!
Cocktail - Each December before everyone gets ready to leave for
winter break we have a cocktail, a nicer and more dressy event. Pledge classes enjoy taking their dates out to dinner together before hand as a great way to bond and get to know one anothers dates. With an "Old Havana Nights" theme, the girls of SDT heated up the winter night at Cuba Libre, a club downtown.
Formal - Every spring semester we have our annual Yellow Tea Rose
Ball, our most exciting and memorable event. This year we held our formal at the Omni Hotel in dowtown Austin. Everyone was dressed to kill, and we quickly took off our heals so we dance to the great band!
